Walking project's £160,000 boost

A £160,000 project to encourage more people to walk in the Shropshire countryside is nearly finished.

Thousands of new signposts and 80 new gates have been introduced on the walking routes around the Shropshire Way.

Those behind the project said they hoped it would encourage more people to take more exercise and improve the experience for ramblers.

They said they also hoped it would encourage more visitors to the area.
