Logo vote delayed by councillors

One logo on the shortlist

Council leaders have delayed a decision on a logo for Shropshire's new unitary authority so more people can have a say on what it should look like.

Seven designs have been shortlisted, including three which have been drawn by schoolchildren in the county.

Shropshire Council will replace the county council and five district and borough councils in April 2009, with Telford keeping its existing authority.

The logo decision has now been delayed until 10 September.
