Health trust tops patient survey

Surgery
A total of 76,000 patients nationwide were surveyed for the poll

A hospital trust in Shropshire has come out top in a national patients' survey.

The poll carried out by the Healthcare Commission was topped by Oswestry's Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and District Hospital Trust.

Hospitals were rated by inpatients on issues like the quality of food, cleanliness, treatment and privacy.

Across England, nine in 10 patients said their care was good. However, they reported problems with food, treatment information and mixed-sex wards.

A total of nearly 76,000 inpatients were polled for the survey nationwide.
