Campaigners welcome pub proposal
Sun Inn
The pub has remained closed since March 2007
A campaign group formed to secure the future of a village pub in Shropshire has welcomed plans to reopen it.

The Sun Inn, at Welshampton, was closed by Admiral Taverns in March last year. New owner Sircar Builders has now submitted plans to restore the venue.

Derek Cairns, from the Save our Sun group, said people in the village were pleased but had concerns over parking.

The proposal includes building homes on part of the car park currently used for free by a number of villagers.

Mr Cairns said there were few other places in Welshampton for people to park their vehicles.
