County singer is German TV star
Ross Catterall (Antony)
Mr Catterall could win a prize of 30,000 euros
A Shropshire singer who has become a big star in Europe is competing in the German version of jungle reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Ross Catterall, from Linley Brook near Bridgnorth, has been pecked by ostriches and had snakes, rats and bugs dropped on him.

His mother, Vivien, said: "The rats would have been his worst nightmare, we didn't think he would do it".

Ross Catterall has to beat nine others to win the 30,000 euro prize.

Mr Catterall, who is also known as Ross Antony, achieved fame after winning the German version of Popstars.

His mother said: "He was hoping to be invited to take part in the celebrity ice skating contest, but was chosen for this (programme, Ich Bin Ein Star) instead".

She said he had been keeping everyone's spirits up by singing and dancing.

His father, Denis, said: "Any winnings will go to charity, but if he makes a lot of money as a result of the programme, then he's buying his mother a Jag!"
