Man in court after knife attack
A man has appeared in court charged with causing grievous bodily harm after another man was slashed across the face in Shropshire.

Sean Williams, 22, of Longmynd View, Longden near Shrewsbury appeared before magistrates at Shrewsbury earlier.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

The injured man needed 60 stitches at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. It is thought he was attacked with a knife, at about 0330 GMT on Saturday.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to the attack to come forward.
