Flood warnings issued for rivers
The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for rivers in Shropshire.

A flood warning is in place on the River Vyrnwy from Llansantffraid to Shrawardine and a flood watch is on the River Severn throughout the county.

A decision will be taken later about whether to close Frankwell car park in Shrewsbury on Saturday due to rising water levels.

Sandy Harper, from the borough council, said it currently remained open as normal for drivers.

The flood alerts follow heavy rain in many areas of Wales, causing rising river levels downstream in Shropshire.
