Cygnets shot in 'target practice'
Cygnets and mother swan (generic)
The RSPCA said there are more attacks in the summer holidays
Two cygnets have been shot dead in Telford in what RSPCA officials believe was an instance of "target practice" by someone with an airgun.

The baby swans were found dead on a golf course at Muxton Grange in Telford.

The first was found last month, and the second was found on Wednesday afternoon. Both birds had been shot in the head.

An RSPCA spokesperson urged anyone with information to contact them.

The spokesman said that they usually found more animals becoming victims of airgun attacks during the school summer holidays.
