Tories control North Shropshire

The Conservatives have gained control of North Shropshire council for the first time.

The Tories gained eight seats in the election putting their total number of councillors at 26.

It was largely at the expense of independents who lost seven councillors, Labour also lost two seats on the authority.

The Liberal Democrats gained a seat, giving them one councillor. All seats were contested.
