History made by Oswestry Tories

The Conservatives have taken control of Oswestry Borough Council for the first time in its history.

The Tories gained two councillors and now have 16 overall on the council, where all of the seats were contested this time.

There are eight independents and four Lib Dems.

Labour also lost one councillor and are not represented, while one seat is vacant. The Conservatives' triumph was revealed at about 0120 BST.
