Scheme to improve run-down areas
A plan to give one of Telford's most run-down areas a multi-million pound facelift has come a step closer.

Borough councillors have backed a scheme to rebuild large parts of Malinslee and Dawley.

The plan is to bring the centre of Malinslee back to life with new shops, homes and a doctors' surgery.

A new primary school would replace the Langley and St Leonards and Malinslee schools, and there would be a new retail centre and play facilities.

Land contaminated by industry and tipping could also be transformed.

The plans will now go out for consultation with the communities.
