A "tired-looking" market town is to get a £330,000 makeover in a bid to attract more passing trade.
The streets of Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire will be repaved, visitor information posts installed and better seating and lighting installed.
A spokesman for the scheme said trade is being lost because of poor parking provision, a lack of tourist information and a rundown high street.
He added the town had the worst minor accident rate in south Shropshire.
The makeover will also include a zebra crossing, a grant scheme for businesses to improve their frontages, and better street furniture including planters, seating, bins and lighting.
