Mini-motos riders need to have insurance, say police

Two motorcyclists have had their bikes seized in a police operation to clamp down on the illegal use of mini-motos.
The Telford operation saw a Suzuki 80cc taken away in Silkin Way, Aqueduct, when the rider ignored a warning.
A black Honda motorcycle was seized from Sutton Hill when the rider was found with no insurance and only a provisional licence.
Five other motorcyclists received their first warning for riding their bikes illegally, West Mercia Police said.
If they receive a second warning during the next 12 months, they face having their bikes seized by police.
'Face fines'
Officers in the Woodside area have been carrying out overnight patrols targeting riders who flout the law and similar operations are planned through the school holidays.
A police spokeswoman said: "These scooters are extremely popular, especially with young people, but most of them and their parents don't realise that they have to comply with road laws.
"If they are used on public roads, traffic offences will be committed unless the individual has a valid driving licence, tax, MOT, insurance, and is wearing a helmet.
"Unless people abide by these laws, they will face fines and disqualification. And if they ride a vehicle in a way which causes alarm to residents, we will warn the rider. If this is ignored, we will seize the bike."
