Dog walker attacked by Rottweiler
A woman and her two dogs have been attacked by a Rottweiler while walking in a Shropshire car park.

Amanda Jones was walking her dogs in Oswestry's Centre North West car park in Oak Street at lunchtime on Saturday.

Police said the Rottweiler ran up and began attacking her dogs, and as she tried to protect her pets the other animal turned on her.

She managed to pick up her Jack Russell cross, but her border collie was badly injured and needed treatment.

'Nasty attack'

Police said Mrs Jones said her pet has been left traumatised by the incident and had lost all its confidence.

Mrs Jones suffered scratching and biting to her arms.

Pc Royston Alderwick urged witnesses or anybody who knew the identity of the Rottweiler's owner to contact him.

He said: "This was a nasty, unprovoked attack by a very large Rottweiler, resulting in both the woman and one of her dogs being badly injured.

"This dog was running loose and when it ran off, there was no trace of an owner in the area."
