Calls to improve 'short cut' road
A traffic survey is to be carried out on a road after residents handed in a petition demanding measures to protect children from speeding motorists.

People on Sandpits Avenue in Ludlow, Shropshire, said they are becoming concerned that the quiet estate road has become a popular short cut.

They want "children playing" signs, clear white lines and road humps.

The county's highways department has promised to assess the situation to see what needs doing.
