Motorsport firm hit by town fire
A major fire which has closed a Shropshire road for nearly two weeks also claimed a series of rally cars worth £250,000, it has emerged.

The 23 December fire at Snedshill Industrial Estate in Telford destroyed the cars owned by JRS Motorsports.

The company lost 20 vehicles, including a newly-delivered £60,000 Subaru N11, plus a Suzuki, Toyotas and Escorts.

Owner Jon Ross said he was unsure about the future and he is waiting to hear from insurers.

The company moved to Snedshill four years ago, to concentrate on preparing rally cars.

Some 80 firefighters were called to the scene and the road left part of the A442 shut.

The section between the Wombridge and Hollinswood Interchanges is set to open later in the week after a dangerous building is demolished.
