Meeting over town's regeneration
A conference is being held to discuss investment for the regeneration of a Shropshire market town.

Wellington Regeneration Partnership organised the meeting with Government architects on how best to spend funds on the town's regeneration programme.

Around 900,000 is be spent on improving Wellington after it was described as "drab" and "unwelcoming" by consultants looking at the project.

Architects will meet with council representatives on Wednesday.

Representatives from the agency, Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (Cabe), will meet with members from Telford and Wrekin Borough Council and Wellington Town Council at the Charlton Arms Hotel in Telford.

Cabe, which aims to improve the design of public buildings and spaces, provide direct help on individual programmes and projects.

Ideas to improve the town include repaving pedestrian areas and rebuilding historic shop frontages.
