A Shropshire town played host to Britain's only floodlit bicycle race at the weekend.
The Newport Nocturne took place on Saturday night and was won by the world track champion Chris Newton
The Olympic silver medallist, from Stockton-on-Tees, won his own weight in beer after defying the course's very slippery conditions.
Ian Holt, from Newport, came seventh. Although the conditions were not perfect, all the races went ahead.
The event drew in a big crowd and Newport fireman, Martin Richardson, said it was great for the town.
