Amy police call in expert advice
Amy Williams
Amy Williams' body was discovered by an elderly man
Detectives investigating the murder of pregnant schoolgirl Amy Williams have called in expert help from scientists and profilers.

Amy, 14, was found dead in the grounds of St Michael's Church in Madeley, Telford, two days after Christmas.

West Mercia police said it has asked experts in various elements of criminal investigation to examine the case to see all lines of inquiry are explored.

Officers have arrested, questioned and released two local men in recent days.

CCTV footage

Amy's body was discovered on 27 December by a man visiting a grave in the churchyard.

She was naked except for pink socks - detectives are still trying to trace the missing clothes, a pink tracksuit and white Kappa trainers.

Police are keen to discover what happened after Amy left a family party in Sutton Hill, Telford, at 2100 GMT on Boxing Day.

CCTV footage of Amy taken after she left the party has been released.

'Reservoir of best practice'

Det Ch Insp Dave Morgan said: "In addition to detailed forensic work, ongoing examination of CCTV footage and enquiries by detectives to trace everyone who was in the area on the evening of Sunday 26 December and the early hours of Monday, 27 December, we are also liaising with scientists and profilers at the National Crime Faculty.

"This faculty provides support to police forces nationally and is a reservoir of best practice and expertise that we can tap into.

"Members of the NCF have visited the murder scene and have spent time with detectives in the incident room at Telford Police Station.

"Members of the faculty are looking at forensic opportunities, the way the murder was conducted and who may be responsible," he added.
