Horse riding centre plan approved

Plans for an equestrian centre between Ludlow and Cleobury Mortimer have been approved by councillors despite objections from local people.

South Shropshire District Council says a barn at Stockhall Lane, near Hopton Wafers, can be turned into stables.

An all-weather arena for horses to be schooled and exercised will be created.

Some residents fear it could spoil the countryside but council officials say the area should be landscaped to protect its appearance.
