Detectives investigating the murder of pregnant schoolgirl Amy Williams have been given more time to question a 28-year-old man about her death.

Amy, 14, was found dead in the grounds of St Michael's Church in Madeley, Telford, over a week ago.

Officers have been given a further 36 hours until Saturday morning to question a man from Telford who was arrested on Wednesday morning.

A 27-year-old man arrested last week was released without charge on Monday.

On Thursday police released Boxing Day CCTV footage of Amy.

It shows Amy going from the town centre towards a community centre. She is alone, apparently fit and well and does not appear to be in any distress.

Her body was discovered the following day by a man visiting a grave in the churchyard.

She was naked except for pink socks - detectives are still trying to trace the missing clothes, a pink tracksuit and white Kappa trainers.

Police are keen to discover what happened after Amy left a party in Sutton Hill, Telford, at 2100 GMT on Boxing Day.

"This CCTV is very helpful to us as it gives us vital information about Amy's movements on Boxing Day evening," said Det Ch Ins Dave Morgan, of West Mercia Police.

"However, we remain extremely keen to get more information and we would repeat our appeals for people who may be able to help us to come forward."
