A four-hour television blackout affecting thousands of homes was caused by trespassers interfering with power supplies, police have said.
The Wrekin transmitter in Shropshire went off air on Saturday evening.
Some 124,000 homes in parts of Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Black Country, Herefordshire and Worcestershire were affected.
Police said while there was no criminal damage someone had gained unauthorised access to the transmitter.
The transmitter went off air just after 2000BST blacking out coverage of the Spain v Russia Euro 2004 match.
In a phone call to the BBC, someone claiming to represent Fathers 4 Justice said they had interrupted the service but West Mercia Police have discounted any involvement by the group.
