The date has been announced for an energy company's appeal against a decision to refuse planning permission for an incinerator in Oxfordshire.

Viridor wants to build the energy from waste (EfW) plant at Ardley but Oxfordshire County Councillors turned down the plan in October 2009.

They said it would have a detrimental effect on the environment.

The Planning Inspectorate inquiry into the decision will start on 6 July and is expected to last 10 days.

Some people living near the site have also protested against the plans.

A separate incinerator for Sutton Courtenay was also refused planning permission by councillors.
