Man seen on fire dies in hospital

A man who was seen on fire in the garden of his home has died in hospital from his injuries.

Police investigating the death of the man in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, described it as "unexplained".

Officers were called to a house, in Trust Corner, at about 2015 GMT on Thursday evening.

A man, aged in his 40s, suffered extensive burns and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A police spokesman said the death was not believed to be suspicious. A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later.

Det Insp Kev Elkins, leading the investigation, said: "I would like to reassure the community that at this stage we are not looking to arrest anyone in connection with the incident. Our thoughts are with the family."
