Alleyway stabbing sparks appeal

A 28-year-old man has been stabbed several times in an alleyway near a nightclub in Oxfordshire.

He was attacked in Pepper Alley near the Chicago Rock Cafe in Broad Street, Banbury at about 1230 BST, a Thames Valley Police spokesman said.

The victim was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Four men in their mid-20s were arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail, the spokesman added.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
