Church bells ring for anniversary

Every church bell in Oxford was being rung simultaneously on Saturday to celebrate the 275th anniversary of the city's bell ringing society.

The Oxford Society of Change Ringers is one of the oldest of its kind in the UK.

Seventy bell ringers were spending 15 minutes ringing the bells at 10 churches at 1700 BST.

In the evening a dinner was being held at Balliol College for 80 members, guests and friends of the society.
