Fans and famous acts reveal why they love music from the 80s

Thousands of people have enjoyed a new festival in Oxfordshire dedicated to the 1980s.

Stars from the era, including ABC, Paul Young, Midge Ure, Sister Sledge and Gloria Gaynor, appeared at the 80s Rewind Festival in Henley.

Kim Wilde, Rick Astley and Bananarama were among those who also played in the line-up.

Martin Fry, lead singer of ABC, said after after 25 years there was no longer any rivalry between the acts.

He said: "It was highly-competitive [back then], totally. You'd stand on one side of the stage at Top of The Pops and look across and it was very Spinal Tap.

"No, I have to say these days it's absolute respect for all the artists. Fifteen minutes is a long time in music, so 25 years is, kind of, a lot of 15 minutes."
