Road closed for bin-lorry crash

A road in Oxford has reopened after a city council refuse lorry crashed into scaffolding.

The truck drove into the scaffolding in Merton Street shortly after 0730 BST, Thames Valley Police said.

Police said no-one had been injured but damage to the structure had made it potentially unsafe.

Merton Street was closed while work was done to secure the scaffolding. Oxford City Council said it was investigating the incident.
