The funeral for an 11-year-old cyclist who was killed in a collision with a van on her way home from school is to take place in Abingdon next week.

Ty-ree Partridge received fatal injuries as she cycled home from Larkmead School on 2 July.

She is the second Larkmead pupil to die in a cycling accident in nine months, following the death of Sarah Waterhouse, 17, in October 2008.

Ty-ree's funeral will held at St Helen's Church on Wednesday 15 July.

Over 700 pupils attended a memorial service at the school on Thursday.

Ty-ree joined Larksmead School as a Year 7 pupil in January.

Oxfordshire County Council has said it is exploring measures to improve road safety in the area surrounding the school.

It said £35,000 had also been set aside for improvements to cycle routes in Abingdon.
