Five people injured in M40 crash

Three children and two adults were injured when their car crashed on the M40 in Oxfordshire.

The incident happened at about 1505 BST on Monday between junctions four and five of the motorway.

A boy suffered serious injuries and needed to be airlifted from the scene, and a man and a woman and two other children were taken to hospital.

A diversion was put in place and the road reopened at about 1830 BST, a Thames Valley Police spokesman said.

The boy was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital with another child and a man.

A woman and a third child were taken to Wexham Park Hospital, Slough, also suffering from injuries.
