Two charged over market incident

Two men have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with an incident in Banbury Market Square on Saturday.

Shaban Alia, 43, from Winter Gardens Way, Banbury, and 29-year-old Ilir Sheta, from Wood End, Banbury, have been remanded in custody.

They are both due to appear before Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old victim, who suffered spinal injuries, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
