Gary O'Donnell had already been decorated for his work in Iraq
A bomb disposal expert killed in an explosion in Afghanistan in September has been awarded a second George Medal.
Warrant Officer Class 2 Gary O'Donnell was from the Royal Logistic Corps based in Didcot. He received the first medal for his work in Iraq in 2006.
The Ministry of Defence said WO2 O'Donnell was trying to defuse a device in Musa Qaleh when he was killed.
He leaves a wife, Toni, and four children. His wife will receive the medal from the Queen.
WO2 O'Donnell, originally from Edinburgh, lived in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
