Prince pays visit to city college

The Prince is patron of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies

The Prince of Wales has visited an Islamic college affiliated to Oxford University.

The Prince, who is the patron of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, attended a reception and dinner hosted by the centre at Magdalen College.

The centre was established in 1985 with the aim of encouraging a better understanding of Islam.

A spokesman for the college said it provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic worlds of learning.
