Citizens Advice bureaux to merge

The eight Citizens Advice (CAB) offices in Oxfordshire have come together to form a new charitable organisation.

Citizens Advice Oxfordshire will extend the organisation's free services across the county.

Currently there are eight CAB sites in Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot, Henley-on-Thames, Oxford, Thame and West Oxfordshire.

It is hoped by joining forces they will secure more regional funding and can provide a more effective service.

Simon Bassett, director of Citizens Advice Oxfordshire said: "The eight existing Citizens Advice bureaux are doing an excellent job, and the new consortium will enhance the service still further.

"It will ensure the latest information and advice provided by the eight Oxfordshire bureaux is co-ordinated and distributed as quickly as possible to the people who need it most."
