An Oxfordshire man has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder.

Mark Bray, 29, of Parsons Mead in Abingdon, appeared at Oxford Crown Court accused of pouring petrol over his ex-partner and setting her alight.

Coral Newman, 40, was found at her house in Draymen's Walk in Abingdon on Christmas Eve with life-threatening burns.

The mother-of-three was taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Mr Bray is due in court again in March.
