Road closure in viaduct rebuild

A 30m project to replace a dated viaduct in Oxfordshire will lead to a road closure on Saturday night.

The busy A40 between Oxford and Witney will be shut between 2200 GMT and 0700 GMT on Sunday.

The closure will allow huge bridge beams to be installed as part of the Wolvercote Viaduct replacement scheme.

The viaduct, which was built in 1960, no longer complies with current design standards and is being completely replaced.
