Plea after man's body is found

Detectives are trying to discover what happened to a 26-year-old man whose body was discovered by members of the public in an Oxfordshire town.

He was found near to Ploughley Road, between Ambrosden and Lower Arncott, near Bicester on Saturday afternoon.

He was from Luton and is thought to have been in the area working as a door-to-door salesman.

A police spokesman said they were not treating his death as suspicious, but appealed for information.

Det Sgt Matt Bick, from Thames Valley Police, said: "We do not believe this man's death to be suspicious at this time, but it appears he died in a public place and we would like local people to help us find out what happened to him.

"Did you see this man in the area beforehand?

"Perhaps he called at your home or maybe you were driving by on Saturday afternoon and saw what you thought was a man lying down near to the road.

"If so, please get in touch."
