Staff threatened in armed robbery

Staff at a travel agent's were threatened by raiders during an armed robbery in Oxfordshire.

Two men went into Co-op Travel in Chapel Way in Botley on Monday morning and threatened staff with what they claimed was a gun inside a bag.

The offenders ordered the four female members of staff to open the safe and stole cash and traveller's cheques.

The pair are thought to be about 19 years old. One wore a fake beard and yellow-tinted sunglasses, police said.

Det Sgt Darren Cartwright said: "Thankfully nobody was injured during the incident.

"One of the men picked up a woman's cerise-coloured bag and put the stolen cash inside.

"I appeal to anyone who was in this area of Botley this morning and saw two men of these descriptions to contact police immediately."
