Construction site victim is named

Paramedics found the man trapped with steel against his neck

A construction worker who died at a building site in Oxfordshire has been named as Altin Balla.

Mr Balla died in hospital after he became trapped with steel against his neck at the new Marriotts Close Development in Witney.

The 28-year-old, from Aberystwyth in mid Wales, was named by Oxford Coroner's Office.

The Health and Safety Executive is leading the investigation into the incident, which happened on Friday.

A post-mortem examination was due to be held on Tuesday.

Workers returned to the site on Monday and have been offered counselling.

A spokesman for Simons Construction Limited said it was far from business-as-usual.
