Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a father-of-three was struck by a car outside a nightclub.

Richard Waters, 52, of Risinghurst, was hit in Magdalen Road near Oxford's Regal nightclub on Sunday. He is in a critical condition.

Mane McKenzie, 25, of Manchester, has been charged with attempted murder and grievous bodily harm with intent to endanger life.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court in Oxford.

Mr McKenzie has also been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop.
