Man charged over 'false robbery'

A 28-year-old man has been charged with making a false report of an attempted robbery at an Oxford restaurant.

It follows an alleged incident in the Gourmet Burger Kitchen restaurant in George Street on 19 June.

A restaurant worker had reported that he was threatened with a knife by two men who also assaulted him leaving him with minor injuries.

The man, from Headington, charged with perverting the course of justice was released on bail.
