A girl has been raped and her friend sexually assaulted at an Oxfordshire nature reserve.

The 16-year-old victims had been with another friend in Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve in Thame on Saturday night when they were approached by two men.

The girls were then attacked by one of the men, who were aged in their 20s.

Det Sgt Alan Clements, of Thames Valley Police, said: He added: "I appeal to anyone who may have been in the park on Saturday evening to contact us."

He added: "It was a nice, warm evening and there were plenty of people around at the time."

The incidents happened at 2130 BST.

Cuttle Brook is semi-wild countryside but is just a few minutes walk from Thame town centre.

It is owned by the town council and became a dedicated nature reserve in 1995.

The offender was described as white and 5ft 9in. He had broad shoulders and well built arms with a fat waist and had short, light brown hair, which was gelled into spikes.

The other man was white, 6ft, and slimmer than the other man with dark gelled hair.
