The death of an inmate whose body was found in an Oxfordshire prison is being investigated by the Prison's Ombudsman.

Police officers were called to HMP Bullingdon prison, in Bicester, on Saturday morning following the death of the 50-year-old man.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained."

He said enquiries are ongoing in conjunction with the prison authorities to establish how he died.

"The Prison Ombudsman has been informed, as have the man's next of kin," the spokesman added.
