Warning over bogus shopping calls
Residents in Oxfordshire are being warned about a bogus shopping service thought to be operating in the county.

The county council has received reports from people who have been telephoned by somebody pretending to be from a company offering to do their shopping.

The council said the only provider of such services is a firm it uses, Montclair Home Shopping Service, but it does not cold-call people.

Trading Standards fear older and vulnerable people may be targeted.

Nigel Strick, head of Trading Standards, said: "We would urge people to politely decline services from any callers that they do not know."
