Warning over underage booze sales
Shop owners have been warned they face prosecution if they sell alcohol to under 18s after a teenager drank so much vodka she stopped breathing.

The 14-year-old girl and her friend passed out in a skate park in Grove, Wantage, Oxfordshire.

Two Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) on patrol in the area, resuscitated the teenager, last Friday.

Sgt Claire Storry, of Thames Valley Police, said they will continue to target shops and drinking hotspots.

"[The girls'] irresponsible actions could have had fatal consequences and cost them their lives," she said.

"I would like to remind people that anyone who supplies alcohol to under 18s will be prosecuted."

The girl was taken to hospital for treatment.
