Man found collapsed on boat dies
A man who was found collapsed on his boat on an Oxfordshire canal 10 days ago has died in hospital.

Police investigating the death of Maurice Batts, 64, are treating it as "unexplained".

Mr Batts was discovered on his canal boat near Southam Road in Banbury, on 29 September.

Det Supt George Turner said police are now trying to establish Mr Batts' movements before he died and post-mortem tests are under way.

Vital information

"The cause of death is not clear at this time and I am treating his death as unexplained," Det Supt Turner said.

"I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who saw or spoke to Maurice between Thursday, 27, and Saturday, 29, September.

"He was found collapsed on the evening of 29 September and taken to hospital.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could prove vital to establishing his movements and how he died."
