Bracelet used as knuckle duster
A man wrapped a chain bracelet around his fist and used it as a knuckle duster to punch a shop worker in the face during a racist attack.

The attack happened on Saturday evening after the man pushed his way into the office area of a shop in Cowley, Oxon.

When the duty manager, who is Asian, asked him to leave, the man assaulted him and used racist language.

After punching him in the face, the man was thrown out, only to return and launch another attack with his belt.

Possessions as weapons

Police said the attack at the Co-op supermarket in Templars Square only stopped after members of the public intervened.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was given three stitches in his face.

Pc Andrew Reid, of Thames Valley Police, said: "This was a nasty assault where the attacker used his possessions in an attempt to maximise the injuries he caused to his victim.

"We will not tolerate this type of racist abuse in our city and it is vital we trace this man."

Police appealed for witnesses of the attack, or anyone with information, to come forward.
