Voters in the Vale of White Horse bucked a national trend when the Liberal Democrats picked up seats at the expense of the Conservatives.
The Lib Dems grabbed four seats to take their tally up to 34 while nationally they have been losing out to Tories.
Meanwhile, the Conservatives lost three seats in a district council that has been Lib Dem-controlled since 1995.
The bright note for the Tories was 20-year-old James McGee picking up a seat in Grove ward.
