Sir Elton will play a gig at the club's ground
An Elton John concert at the Kassam Stadium has been given the go-ahead by Oxfordshire County Council.

The council has agreed to plans for a 21,000 capacity concert on 24 June.

The council said there would be "up to 8,500 people on the pitch in addition to a slightly reduced normal capacity of 12,500 in the stands".

Council officers checked that the stadium had sufficient stewarding, refreshment and toilet facilities, fire fighting and medical equipment on site.
