Scout event goes on despite arson
The curtain is to go up as planned on a scout and guides' show that was put in jeopardy by an arson attack.

Organisers of the Oxford Gang Show were left with just four weeks to replace six months of work after a fire broke out at their prop store last month.

Props, stage sets and backdrops were all destroyed in the suspicious fire.

But scores of local firms responded to an appeal for help to rebuild the sets and the show is to go ahead as planned at the city's New Theatre this week.

The show, which involves about 350 people, runs from Monday to Saturday.
